Shimla, Oct 24 (UNI) Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Vishal Nehriha established an early lead in the first round of counting on Dharmshala Assembly seat.
Election Commission spokesman confirmed that Mr Nehriha is leading by 1147 votes from Congress candidate Vijay Inder Karan in first round of counting.
During counting of postal ballots, Nehriha got 2730 votes while his nearest rival Vijay Inder Karan received 1543 votes.
Seven candidate are in fray at Dharmshala By-election and BJP rebel is trailing on third place with 282 votes.
Counting of votes began at 0800 hrs in Dharmshala and Pachhad Assembly constituency.
