New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday released the first list of 54 candidates for the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly and 123 candidates for the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections.
The party’s Central Election Committee which met on Saturday under the chairmanship of BJP president Amit Shah, was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj along with all other members of the Central Election Committee.
Among the more prominent names is that of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who will be contesting from the Mukto assembly constituency.
The names of JSV Prasad, Hanumanthu Uday Bhaskar, Raghava Rao Salana Challa Venkateswara Rao, Surya Prakash Rokkam among others figured in the list of 123-candidate for the Andhra Pradesh assembly.
The party has named its candidates for 123 seats in the 175-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly and for 54 seats in the 60-member Arunachal Pradesh Assembly, a statement by the BJP said here.
The assembly elections for both Andhra Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh are scheduled to be held on April 11 along with the Lok Sabha elections.
