Birla bows to freedom fighters on eve of 74th Independence Day

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) Greeting the people on the eve of the 74th Independence Day on Friday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla bowed to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives during the Independence movement and also expressed gratitude to the armed forces who protect the borders of the country.
'I convey my greetings to the people on the 74th Independence Day. On this auspicious day, I bow to our freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives during the Independence movement. I also express my gratitude to our armed forces, who keep a vigil and protect our borders,' he said in his message.
Besides being a dynamic and resilient nation that is continuously on the path of progress, India today is safer, more prosperous, capable, and stronger than ever, he said.
