Bengal: Looking back at 2017

Kolkata, Dec 31 (UNI) The sun of 2017 is setting and 2018 is on the horizon, at this juncture some of the crucial events happened in West Bengal in this year.
The state government earned worldwide praise, including from world football’s governing body, FIFA for successfully organising the Under-17 World Cup. Two of the most crucial matches, a semi-final and he final, were both held at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in the city.
West Bengal Government was awarded the United Nations Public Service Award for winning the first prize among projects in South Asia for the Kanyashree Scheme on June 23.

Ahead of SC verdict on 370, ADGP chairs meeting on law and order

Srinagar, Dec 8 (UNI)) As the Supreme Court is to deliver its verdict on Monday on pleas challenging the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution, a high level meeting of Police and civil officers was held in Srinagar on Friday to discuss law and order situation in Kashmir.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Director General of J&K Police (ADGP) Law and order Vijay Kumar.
