BEL wins 3 Governance Now Awards, Director-HR wins HR Leadership Award

Bengaluru, Jul 30(UNI) The Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) received three Governance Now Awards: for Nation Building, HR Excellence and Digital Security; and Mr K M Shivakumaran, Director (HR), BEL received the HR Leadership Award.
In a press release here today, it was stated that the awards were presented by Dr Kiran Bedi at the 8th Governance Now PSU Awards ceremony held virtually on Thursday, July 29, 2021. All four awards were received by Mr K M Shivakumaran, Director (HR), BEL. The Governance Now Awards recognise the efforts of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) that have been key to the country’s growth.
Mr K M Shivakumaran, Director (HR), BEL, received the HR Leadership Award for being a dynamic and visionary HR leader. His rich and varied experience as a HR professional has helped in transforming the HR function to be an enabler in business. He has been instrumental in adopting and implementing new HR policies. He takes keen interest in the well-being of employees and their families.
BEL received the Award for Nation Building for supporting the Government’s fight against Covid 19 by manufacturing and supplying 30,000 indigenous ICU ventilators in record time. BEL is proud to have created a capable ecosystem for manufacturing medical grade equipment indigenously and addressing the healthcare needs of our nation in a timely manner. This a true example of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The HR Excellence Award was given for BEL achieving People Capability Maturity Model (PCMM) Level 3, being an excellent employer with positive leadership and management, having integrated ethical culture, clear human resources policy that creates a stimulating and supportive workplace, where employees are engaged with company values and strategic goals with excellence in staff retention and development. There are structured executive development programmes in place as well as reskilling / repositioning of human resources in accordance with new technological implementations or policy changes or business diversification. BEL empowers women and provides a good work-life balance.
The Award for Digital Security recognised BEL setting up Internet Security Operations Centre (SOC) to protect information and data from unauthorized people, the release added.

Chips shortage dampens Maruti Q2 show, profit falls 65 pc YoY

New Delhi, Oct 27 (UNI) Adverse commodity prices, lower sales volume due to electronic component shortages with consequential lower capacity utilization pulled down auto major Maruti Suzuki’s net profit to Rs 475.30 crore for the September quarter of FY22, a 65.35% year-on-year plunge from Rs 1,371.60 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, according to the financial results for the July-September quarter of FY 2021-22 released on Wednesday.
The company reported a 9.09% decline in net sales for the Q2 FY22 at Rs 19,297.80 crore compared with Rs 17,689.30 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
