Bedi’s appeal to parents on Children's Day

Puducherry, Nov 13 (UNI) Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi on Wednesday night called up on the parents and every adult to give their children the best education, the best of everything to nurture them as responsible citizens.

In her Chidren’s Day message, the Lt Governor said 14th November, the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawharlal Nehru is celebrated as children’s day across the country.
Pandit Jawharlal Nehru, popular among children was fondly called “Cacha Nehru”. He was of the conviction that children are the citizens of tomorrow and they are the future of the nation.

"Nurturing our young children, teaching them their rights and responsibilities and inculcating them the values of our rich cultural heritage will create a robust and developed India of tomorrow, regaining the glory of her yore days," Bedi said.

HC directs CB-CID to file status report in Sathankulam custodial deaths

Madurai, Jul 9 (UNI) The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Thursday directed the Crime Branch CID (CB-CID) Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar, who is the investigation officer (IO) of the custodial deaths of a father-son duo, P Jayaraj and J Bennicks, to file a status report by July 28 on the actions taken so far in the case.
