The fisher people on June 22 resorted to an agitation to condemn the Puducherry fisheries and fishermen development department for its failure to provide basic amenities including power, drinking water and toilet facilities at the harbour.When this was brought to the notice of the Lt.Governor, she went to the harbour and inspected it last week and directed the officials to provide the facilities.After that she visited the harbour today and went round different areas.
