Dhaka, Nov 10 (UNI) Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque has tested positive for COVID-19, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official confirmed on Tuesday.
The cricketer was having mild COVID-19 symptoms and undertook a COVID-19 test on Monday following which BCB's chief physician confirmed to the media that the veteran batsman had tested positive, Cricbuzz reported.
'Mominul is corona positive and he was having little symptoms,' Dr Debashish Chowdhury told reporters on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Mominul said that he is under isolation at his home after he came to know about the result of his test.
'I came to know about the result yesterday and since isolated myself in the house. There is not much symptom... it is only that I was having little fever that I am carrying even today,' he said.
Mominul is now a doubtful starter for the upcoming Bangabandhu T20 tournament, scheduled to begin from the third week of November.
According to the official figures, there have been 421,921 Covid-19 cases in Bangladesh, with over 6000 deaths.
