Bangladesh' Army Chief inspects passing out parade at OTA

Chennai, Apr 30 (UNI) Bangladesh ' Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, on the 3rd day of his visit to India, attended the Officers’ Training Academy in Chennai on Saturday as the chief guest, he received the salute and inspected the parade.
After inspecting the parade, General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed interacted with the media persons.
He attended the dinner organized in honour of the chief guest and paid courtesy calls on military and civilian officials of various ranks.
On the first day of his visit to India (April 27), Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed paid tributes to the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces who sacrificed their lives defending the country by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial.
After paying tribute, General Shafiuddin met the Chief of Army Staff of India, General Manoj Pandey.
During the meeting, comprehensive strategic partnership between the armies of the two countries was discussed regarding training, counter-terrorism mutual assistance and bilateral cooperation.
Before the meeting, the visiting Bangladesh Army Chief was given a guard of honour by the Indian Armed Forces.
Later General Shafiuddin paid a courtesy call on India's Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar, Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal AP Singh, Defense Secretary and Foreign Secretary.
At that time, he was briefed by the Department of Defense Production (DDP) and the Army Design Bureau about the Indian domestic defense equipment manufacturing eco-system.
Also during the visit, an 'Implementation Arrangement' was signed between the Center for United Nations Peacekeeping (CUNPK), India and Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operations Training (BIPSOT) for cooperation in UN peacekeeping operations and training between the militaries of both countries.
On the second day of the tour (April 28), they attended the band symphony and dinner organized to mark the end of the training at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai, India.
