Mumbai, Jun 2(UNI)Auto major Bajaj Auto Limited has reported a decline of 70 per cent in its total sales for the month of May 2020 at 1,27,128 units as against 419235 units in May 2019.

Exports was down 53 per cent to 87,054 in May 2020 from 1,83,411 in May 2019. Whereas, the domestic sales dropped 83 per cent to 40074 units in May 2020 as compared to 2,35,824 units in May 2019.

The company has sold 1,12,798 units of motorcycles during May 2020, as compared to 3,65,068 in May 2019, a drop of 69 per cent.

Exports of motorcycles was down 54 per cent to 73,512 in May 2020, as against 1,59,347 in May 2019. Whereas, the domestic sales of motorcycles dropped 81 per cent to 39,286 units in May 2020 as compared to 2,05,721 units in May 2019.

Commercial Vehicles sales was down 74 per cent at 1,43,30 units in May 2020, as compared to 54,167 in May 2019. Exports of Commercial Vehicles was 44 per cent lower at 13,542 units in May 2020, as against 24,064 in May 2019.

Domestic sale of Commercial Vehicles plunged by 97 per cent in May 2020 to 788 units as compared to 30,103 units in May 2019.
