Assam sprucing up intensive care facilities for COVID 19 patients

Guwahati, Aug 30 (UNI) With rise in number of critically ill COVID 19 patients in the state, the Assam government has started sprucing up its advanced and specialized treatment facilities.
State Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said two COVID hospitals in Guwahati are being fitted with beds that have oxygen supply facility and ICUs.
He said the COVID Hospitals at Kalaphar and Jalukbari have currently been closed and the facilities are being upgraded as the number of patients requiring oxygen support and ICU admission has been increasing in the state.

The positive cases from the general population were from Imphal East (12),
Imphal West (26), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (3), Ukhrul (12),
Churachandpur (4), Senapati (2), Kamjong (1) and Kangpokpi (1).
