Arunachal Guv suggests optimisation of civil-military relations

Itanagar, Dec 7 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra on Wednesday said that time has now come for India to upgrade and graduate civil-military relations into civil-military fusion. He suggested optimization of civil-military relations should be an integral part of the National Defence Policy and must aim at making the Armed Forces ‘Atma Nirbhar’ and the country ‘Shreshtha Bharat’.
The Governor said this while addressing the student officers of the Indian Armed Forces as also Armed Forces Officers of 28 friendly countries of the world at the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.
Underlining the importance of good civil-military relations, Mishra, who has rendered 36 years of meritorious service in Infantry in the Indian Army, said that good civil-military relations promote security and peace in the country, which enables development of the Nation and leads to the welfare of the people, which is the ultimate goal of a democratic welfare State like India. He added that the civil-military relations in the country have to be jointly evolved at national level to make it vibrant and dynamic.
