AP, Maha win overall trophies in Jr National W'lifting

Chandigarh, Oct 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh won the overall youth boys and girls team championship by logging 440 points in the 15th Youth (Boys and Girls), 56th Men and 32nd Women Junior National Weightlifting Championships at Bodh Gaya, Bihar, on Tuesday.
Maharashtra men and women were adjudged the overall best teams with 402 points.
Overall team championships: Andhra Pradesh (youth boys and girls) 440 points. Maharashtra (junior men and women) 402 points.
Maharashtra emerged winners in youth girls and junior women with 226 points and 230 points, respectively.
Andhra Pradesh won the youth boys team championship with 215 points while Tamil Nadu will take home the junior men's team trophy by securing 196 points.
KVL Pavani Kumari of Andhra Pradesh was declared the best lifter in the junior women (496.699 points) as well as youth girls (767.871 points). Charu Pesi (Arunachal) grabbed the best lifter's trophy for youth boys by logging 826.461 points. Siddhanta Gogoi (Assam) got the best lifter's trophy in the junior men's section by securing 725.699 points.
Team trophies: Youth boys: Winners: Andhra Pradesh 215 pts; Runners-up: Maharashtra 213 pts.
Youth girls: Winners: Maharashtra 226 pts; runners-up: Andhra Pradseh 225 pts.
Junior men: Winners: Tamil Nadu 196 pts; Runners-up: Andhra Pradesh 193 pts.
Junior women: Winners Maharshtra 230 pts; runners-up: Manipur 194 pts.
Best lifters trophies: Youth boys: Charu Pesi (Arunachal) 826.461 pts. Youth girls: KVL Pavani Kumari (AP) 767.871 pts. Junior men: Siddhanta Gogoi (Assam) 725.699 pts. Junior women: KVL Pavani Kumari (AP) 496.699 pts.
