Vijayawada, Aug 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed grief on Wednesday over the passing away of Dr. CR Rao (Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao), a renowned mathematician and statistician who excelled in his chosen field.
Government of India honored him with Padma Bhushan in 1968 and Padma Vibhushan in 2001.
Rao completed his Masters from Andhra University, went on to win the International Prize in Statistics (2023), the equivalent of the Nobel Prize.
