Anti-Poaching Camp named after forest official late Manikandan

Bengaluru, Sept 12 (UNI) In a great tribure, a Anti-Poaching Camp was named after S Manikandan, the then Director of the Nagarahole Tiger Reserve, who was trampled to death by a tusker while on his routine rounds at the Dodda Byrankuppe Forests on the World Wildlife Day that falls on March 3.
It was inaugurated on Wednesday to mark the Forest Martyrs Day at Veeranahosahalli Wildlife Range by Nagarahole Tiger Reserve and Conservator of Forests Director R Ravishankar, who succeeded Manikandan.
2001 batch IFS officer Manikandan, born in 1978 at Theni District in Tamil Nadu had served two years in the Nagarahole Forests from July 2016 till his death.
