New Delhi, July 22 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Monday posted for August 2 consideration, a petition filed by Gujarat High Court Advocates Association, seeking a direction to appoint Justice Akil Kureshi as chief justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court.
Solicitor-General Tushar Mehta, for the Union of India, told the bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, that the matter is still under consideration. He sought two weeks time, and the apex court allowed his plea.
GHCAA had approached the Supreme Court seeking a direction to appoint Justice Akil Kureshi as chief justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court.
