Anonymous phone call about bomb on Malegaon-Surat private luxury bus turns hoax

Nashik, Aug 17 (UNI) An anonymous phone call from Gujarat to a private travel firm at Malegaon in north Maharashtra about a bomb being planted on a private luxury bus to Surat sent the Malegaon city police into a tizzy, but it was proved to be a hoax after a thorough search of the bus.
The private travel bus office at Malegaon got the anonymous phone call from Gujarat on late Friday night, in which the caller said a bomb was planted on Malegaon-Surat private luxury bus of Sanna Travel Company.
Soon after getting the call, the travel company manager informed about it to the owner who, in turn,
informed the Malegaon city police, sources said.
Following which, the Malegaon city police, along with a bomb detection and disposal squad, rushed to the spot and stopped the bus near Kidwai road in Malegaon.
They asked all the passengers to get off the bus and carried out the search of the bus as well checked the luggage of passengers, but they did not find any explosive device in the bus, sources added.
