Anil Kumar Chaudhary assumes charge as SAIL chairman

New Delhi, Sept 21 (UNI) Anil Kumar Chaudhary on Saturday took charge as chairman of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
SAIL is the largest steel-making company in India and one of the seven Maharatnas of the country's Central Public Sector Enterprises.
Prior to this, Mr Chaudhary was the Director (Finance) of the Maharatna SAIL. After completing his graduation from Delhi University, he had started his career as a junior manager (finance and accounting) from the corporate office of SAIL in 1984.
He became Executive Director (Finance and Accounting) of the Bokaro Steel Plant of SAIL in 2010.
In the beginning of 2011, he returned to the corporate office after becoming the Director (Finance) of the SAIL. During his long tenure in corporate Office, Mr Chaudhary made significant contributions in the administration of Treasury and Banking Operations, Foreign Exchange Management, Capital Budgeting, Cost and Operation Budget, Financial Consent and Centralized Gratuity and Supernuation Funds.
According to a company statement, as a Finance Director, he took strategic steps like reducing costs, promoting the optimum utilization of resources and applying prudent financial use, which helped rejuvenate the SAIL.
An associate member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Mr Chaudhary is an alumni of the Faculty of Law Studies (FLS), from where he completed his bachelor's degree in law.
