Chandigarh, Sep 13 (UNI) Ramkumar Ramanathan of India, combining with Hugo Grenier of France advanced into the doubles semi-final after upsetting Austrian third seeded pair of Lucas Miedler and Tristan-Samuel Weissborn 4-6, 7-6 (5), 12-10 in a thrilling and evenly-fought quarter-final in the $81,240 ATP Challenger Tennis Tournament in Istanbul here.
Down by a set, Ramanathan/Grenier fought back with a vengeance to snatch the exciting win by 4-6, 7-6 (5) 12-10 in one hour and 31 minutes on Thursday.
Ramanathan and Grenier saved three break points out of six and won two break points out of six, Miedler/Weissborn save four break points out of six and won three out of six break points.
Ramanathan/Grenier will now face Andrey Golubev and Aleksandr Nedovyesov of Kazakhstan in the doubles semi-final.
Andrey Golubev and Aleksandr Nedovyesov upset second seeds Purav Raja of India and Rameez Junaid of Australia by 4-6, 7-6 (2), 10-3 in one hour and 42 minutes in the doubles quarter-final outing.
