Alleging failure in promoting game, 7 top most members quits J&K Football Assn

Jammu, Nov 18 (UNI) Alleging failure in developing the game on professional lines vis-a-vis lack of transparency, around seven officials of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association on Monday called it a day and quit the body.
Sources in the association said that seven top most members including sports administrator and Chairman Sports Board J&K Bank and former national footballer, Abdul Hamid Banday (executive member); former secretary J&K Bank Sports Board, Showkat A Khanyari (chairman Disciplinary Committee); former international footballer, Ramesh Chander (vice president and joint secretary Jammu); international football Coach, Sajid Dar (vice chairman (K) Technical Committee); star international player from J&K, Arun Malhotra (vice chairman (J) Technical Committee); sports management professional, Majid Yousuf (joint secretary Kashmir) and sports promoter and columnist, Asif Maqbool (executive member) have resigned from their posts of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association.
“Resentment was lodged many times against the poor functioning of JKFA by the majority of the registered Clubs in Srinagar and Jammu over incompetence of senior members of the association, who were holding the chair unconstitutionally and failed to lift the football,” one of the members, who tendered resignation here told UNI.
