All eyes on EC decision on CEO Shashank

All eyes on EC decision on CEO Shashank

Aizawl, Nov 12 ( UNI) All eyes will be on the Election Commission's decision expected in a day or two on the vexed issue arising out of demand for the ouster of CEO SB Shashank.
A high-level EC delegation met Mizo NGOs and other civil society leaders here on Friday and reportedly assured that their views will be respected.
According to sources in the influential Young Mizo Association, besides transferring CEO Shashank, the poll panel could also decide on not setting up of any
polling station in Reang refugee relief camps.
The Mizo groups have been insisting that Reangs or Brus if interested to cast votes in Mizoram polls on November 28 should come to the state and do so in
designated camps.
The Mizoram government has reportedly suggested a panel of three IAS officers to be considered by the Election Commission for appointment as new CEO
replacing Mr Shashank.
However, final decision on the issues will be taken by the full commission of the poll panel after considering the report from the Deputy Election Commissioner
Sudeep Jain, who led the EC delegation for meeting with Mizo groups.
