AITA Super Series: Ajay, Krishan, Shashikant advance to boys U-18 singles semis

Chandigarh, Sep 25 (UNI) CLTA trainees Ajay Singh, Krishan Hooda and Shashikant Rajput advanced into semi-finals in under-18 boys singles in the CLTA-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament, here at Sector 10 Tennis Stadium on Wednesday.
Ajay Singh caused a mild upset by shocking another CLTA trainee seventh seed Manveer Singh in straight sets. Ajay won the first set at 6-3 without getting much pressure. In the second set both players played good level of tennis. Finally Ajay used his experience and won the set 7-6(3) in a closed contestant match.
Fourth seed Shashikant Rajput won from eighth seed Aryan Thakur convincingly 6-1, 6-3 in straight sets. Top seed Krishan Hooda defeated his practice partner Jitin Kumar Chetry in 3 setter marathon match 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. Qualifier Maitreya Rana also reach semifinals.
In girls under-18 singles quarterfinals, second seed Harleen Kaur of CLTA moved into last four. Harleen Kaur defeated qualifier Amarjot Kaur Bundhel in one sided match 6-0, 6-2. Top seed Sanvi Ahluwalia and Kaavya Khirwar also entered semifinals in girls under-18 singles.
Top seed Krishan Hooda and his practice partner Bhupender Dahiya moved into finals in doubled event. Krishan and his partner will play against Shashikant Rajput and Aditya Balda in boys under-18 doubles final tomorrow.
Harleen Kaur and her partner will play against second seed Kaavya Khirwar and Hannah Nagpal in Girls under-18 doubles finals tomorrow.
Boys under-18 (q-finals): Krishan Hooda [1] bt. Jitin Kumar Chetry 6-3, 3-6, 6-1, Shashikant Rajput [4] bt. Aryan Thakur [8] 6-1, 6-3, Maitreya Rana (Q) bt. Aditya Balda 6-4, 6-1, Ajay Singh bt. Manveer Singh [7] (Q) 6-3, 7-6(3).
Girls under-18 (q-finals): Sanvi Ahluwalia [1] bt. Hannah Nagpal [5] 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, Harshita Bangera (Q) bt. Harnoor Sidhu (Q) 6-1, 6-0, Kavya Khirwar [4] bt. Vanya Arora (Q) 6-2, 6-4, Harleen Kaur [2] bt. Amarjot Kaur Bundhel (Q) 6-0, 6-2.
Boys under-18 dobles (semi-finals): Krishan Hooda [1] / Bhupender Dahiya bt. Gurustat Singh Makkar/ Samar Bir Singh Sidhu 7-6(3), 6-2, Aditya Balda / Shashikant Rajput [2] bt. Bhavnish Sangwan / Tejas Kartikey [4] 6-2, 6-2.
Girls under-18 (semi-finals): Harleen Kaur / Sanvi Ahluwalia [1] bt. Leera Raju / Amarjot Kaur Bundhel 6-1, 6-1, Kaavya Khirwar / Hannah Nagpal [2] bt. Simran Pritam / Pawandeep Kaur [4] 6-1, 6-2.
