Air India introduces self-check-in, baggage on Bengaluru-San Francisco sector

Air India introduces self-check-in, baggage on Bengaluru-San Francisco sector

Bengaluru, Mar 20 (UNI) In a bid to enhance customer experience and streamlining airport processes, Air India will now offer self-service options for check-in and baggage drop for passengers traveling to San Francisco from Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport.

The service is already available for domestic flights from the airport, and there are plans to extend it to other international destinations, specifically Singapore and Male, where Air India operates from Bengaluru.

The initiative aims to enhance the overall airport experience by reducing waiting times at check-in counters and offering a seamless pre-boarding experience.

The facility was inaugurated by Donald Hunter, Head of Global Airport Operations and Ground Handling at Air India. Senior officials from Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and Air India were present at the event.

"We are focussed on elevating customer experience at every touchpoint. This facility eliminates waiting time for check-in at the counters and offers our passengers a smooth pre-boarding experience. We have plans to extend this facility for our flights at more Indian and global airports," Hunter said.

Passengers can print boarding passes, obtain baggage tags, and drop their baggage at designated slots on their own, without the need to visit check-in counters. This provides passengers with more freedom and customization options for their travel experience.

Air India had previously introduced similar self-service facilities at Terminal 3 of Delhi airport for domestic and Australia-bound international flights.
