Agriculture: Meeting to implement FPO model in Gomati District of Tripura

Udaipur, Jun 21 (UNI) Gomati District of Tripura, where a good section of people doing agricultural activities in the state, conducted a meeting today at DM Office to implement the concept of FPO in six blocks as an initiative of Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India.
Sharing this information on his discussion with Kiran Bhowmik of UNI Stinger, Deputy Director of Agriculture for Gomati District Priyabrata Boidya said a total of six Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) are likely to be formed under central sector scheme "Formation and Promotion of 10000 new Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO)" of Rs: 6865 crore.
A total of 23 numbers FPO will form in the state Tripura and a total of six numbers FPOs are likely to be formed under different blocks of Tripura in Gomati District followed by Matabari, Killa, Tepaniya, Kakraban and Amarpur R.D Block. The FPOs will formed by National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) and North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Limited (NERAMAC).
