Agriculture Marketing Reforms to help farmers get reasonable price of their produce: PM

Patna, Sep 18 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today came down heavily on opposition parties for protesting the Agriculture Marketing Reforms Bill in Lok Sabha, saying they had no concern for sufferings of the farmers and were extending their support to market brokers.
Mr Modi after inaugurating Kosi Rail Mega bridge and other Railway projects in Bihar through video conferencing , said that important agriculture marketing reforms bills had been passed in Lok Sabha but opposition parties protested the same vigorously. Their behaviour had totally exposed them and farmers understood the fact on which side they were standing , he added, an oblique reference that they were supporting the market brokers.
The Prime Minister said that the bills passed in Lok Sabha would greatly help farmers in getting adequate price of their produce and they would now be able to sell the same in market anywhere in the country, without facing any sort of barrier. Those who remained in power for decades did not bother to take such steps in the interest of farmers and they were now even opposing the move of the government to shield the farmers from market brokers, he added.
