Afghanistan: 2 police dead in landmine blast

KANDAHAR, Dec 5 (Xinhua) Two police officers were killed and another wounded following a landmine explosion here on Tuesday, a local official said on Wednesday.
"The incident occurred in Houz-e-Madad area of Zharay district late Tuesday and a police vehicle was also destroyed after the explosion," district chief Amir Zulmay told Xinhua.
The official blamed enemies of peace, a term referring to Taliban militant group for the attack.

Israel warns Iran of "consequences" for escalating tensions

Jerusalem, April 13 (UNI) Israel Defence Forces Spokesman Daniel Hagari warned Iran on Saturday that it "will bear the consequences for choosing to escalate the situation any further."
Hagari made the remarks in a statement following reports that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy had seized an Israeli-linked cargo ship earlier in the day.
