Afghan special forces kill 65 insurgents in past 24 hours

Kabul, Jul 7 (UNI) At least 65 insurgents were killed and 28 others wounded in 15 joint clearance operations conducted by Afghan special forces in past 24 hours, Afghan defence ministry claimed on Sunday.
"In order to remove security threats, destroying the enemy’s sanctuaries and ensure better security to the people of Afghanistan, Afghan Air Forces conducted 173 flights and carried out 11 airstrikes on enemies’ positions in support of these operations.", the ministry said in a statement.
These operations were conducted with support of resolute Support and Afghan Air Forces in Logar, Helmand, Ghazni, Faryab, Uruzgan, Ghor, Balkh, Kapisa, Zabul, Takhar, Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Herat and Sir-e Pol provinces.
