AFC U-16 Championship in Goa from Sep 15: India faces tough competition

Panaji, May 26 (UNI) The 2002 quarter finalists, India, has a herculean task ahead as they will be facing a challenge from other competitors like Iran, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE) of 'Group A' in the AFC U-16 Championship 2016 scheduled to be held in Goa from September 15 to October two.
The four groups were announced after an official draw ceremony was held today by Shin Mangil, director of AFC National team competitions, in the presence of Goa Chief Minister Laximikant Parsekar and All India Football Federation (AIFF) general secretary Kaushal Das among other dignitaries.
Total sixteen qualifying teams are divided into four groups of four teams each.
