A man commits suicide by jumping in front of Kolkata Metro train

Kolkata, Jun 18 (UNI) A man committed suicide by jumping in front of Kolkata Metro train on Tuesday, causing partial disruption of metro services for an hour, a Metro official said.
Metro spokesperson Indrani Banerjee said the man jumped before a moving train at Rabindra Sadan station at around 1729 hours and died on spot.
The metro services were suspended for one hour between Chandni Chowk and Rabindra Sarobar stations on Tuesday evening, during the peak office hours following the incident.
However, Ms Banerjee said that Metro authorities maintained truncated services during the disruption between Central and Noapara stations in the north and Tollygunge and Kavi Subhash stations in the south
"We have restored normal services at 1830 hours. The victim is yet to be identified," the Metro spokesperson added.
