65 more test positive for Coronavirus in UT

Puducherry, Jul 6 (UNI) As many as 65 more persons tested positive for Coronavirus since the last 24 hours taking the total number of active cases in Union Territory to 515.

According to the COVID 19 status released by Health department here on Monday, 62 cases were reported in Puducherry region and one each in Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam regions.

As many as 59 persons tested positive for COVID-19 were admitted to the Government Medical College, three to Jipmer and one each in Mahe and Yanam government hospitals and another in Karaikal Govkernment General Hospital (GGH).

Meanwhile, 33 persons were discharged after treatment and one case was transferred to Tamil Nadu.

Five were discharged from the Government Medical College, 13 from Jipmer, 3 from COVID Care Center (CCC), 11 from Karaikal Government General Hospital and one from government hospital outside Puducherry.

Presently 328 are being treated in the Government Medical College, 122 in Jipmer, 31 in CCC, 9 in Karaikal GGH,14 in Yanam GH, 9 in Mahe GH and two in hopsitals outside Puducherry in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu.

So far 1009 persons were infected by the virus and of which 480 were treated and discharged, 14 died and 515 patients were being treated in hospitals.
