55th convocation of Shivaji University to be held on Feb 22

Kolhapur, Feb 20 (UNI) Dr Bhimaraya Metri, director of Indian
Institute of Management at Tiruchirapalli, will be the chief guest
of the 55th convocation of Shivaji University (Kolhapur) to be held
on February 22 at University campus, here.
Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of the universities in the
state, C Vidyasagar Rao, will preside over the function, Dr Devanand
Shinde, vice-chancellor of the University, told reporters here on
During the convocation ceremony, 24,875 of total 48,515 degrees will
be presented to students while the remaining will be posted at the
respective student's home address later, he informed.

He said that Satyajeet Sanjay Patil and Sakshi Shivaji Gavade have
been selected for President's Gold Medal and Chancellor's Medal for
their general skills and for scoring highest marks in Psychology
subject respectively.
Of total 258 students who will be conferred Doctor of Philosophy
degree, 57 students will be awarded different prizes in this
function, Dr Shinde added.
