302 Wuhan evacuees left ITBP quarantine centre till Tuesday afternoon: ITBP

New Delhi, Feb 18 (UNI) Altogether 302 out of 406 Wuhan evacuees staying at the Indo-Tibetan Border Police makeshift quarantine facility at Chhawla camp here, including seven Maldivians, have left for their residence till 1300 hrs Tuesday, ITBP officials said.

The rest 104 people will be released by Wednesday morning from the ITBP Chhawla Centre, the officials added.

All released persons are advised to remain self-isolated for the next 14 days at their respective places. They have also been advised on the do's and dont's during the period.

Around 200 of the evacuees on Monday started dispersing to their destination after they tested negative in their final test report for Coronavirus (COVID19).

Among them were a number of students, professors, yoga teachers and businessmen.

The seven Maldivians left for their destination late on Monday evening, Force officials said here.

The youngest among the lot is two-year-old Inaya Bhandari, who was bundled up and brought back to India by her parents on the first rescue flight on February 1. Inaya's parents, Dhirendra and Nutan Bhandari, are both yoga teachers in Wuhan in China.

A total of 406 people were airlifted by the Indian authorities from the epidemic epicentre at Wuhan in China on February 1 and 2. They had been kept in makeshift quarantine facility created by ITBP and were provided with all necessary amenities such as food, lodging, indoor games and internet Wi-Fi for 18 days.

All inmates had gone through three round of Coronavirus tests and the last sample were collected after 14 days of isolation and were found negative.
