1217 polling stations found working Sans electricity in Manipur

Imphal, Mar 28 (UNI) A total of 1217 polling stations out of 2862 for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections did not have electricity connections in Manipur.
CEO Manipur, PK Singh addressing the media here today at the Election office said, ''Funds were released for electrification of all 1217 polling stations to MSPDCL. So far, electrification of about 900 has been completed and the remaining will be done by March 30.''
He further said the Department of Education has taken up construction of several ramps over the past one month in school buildings under their jurisdiction. About 665 polling stations where ramps are not there shall be provided with ramps by the Deputy Commissioners. Funds have been released by CEO Office. Funds have been released to DCs for providing drinking voter at polling stations by arranging water dispensers, wherever possible.
