1,102 polling booths in Kaithal for PRI elections

Kaithal, Jan 7 (UNI) Over 1,000 polling booths have been erected for elections to panchayat raj institutions in Kaithal district of Haryana, deputy commissioner said here today.
The PRI elections are scheduled to take place in three phases on January 10, 17 and 24. The district administration has set up 1,102 polling booths in all six blocks for 5,66,680 voters. Out of total, 3,05,364 are male voters and 2,61,316 are female voters.
Deputy Commissioner Nikhil Gajraj informed that the administration would ensure free, fair and peaceful elections in the district and all necessary arrangements including security have been made. The electronic voting machines would be used for the elections to Sarpanches and Members of Zila Parishad, while the elections to the members of Panchayat samiti and Panches would be held with the ballet papers.
