'We registered protest against Babli project to protect North Telangana region' : Naidu

Vijayawada, Sep 14 (UNI) Responding to the issuance of Arrest Warrant by the Dharmabad court in Maharashtra against him and 15 other leaders, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu clarified that they went to the Babli project site in 2010 only to register protest against the height of dam to do justice to North Telangana region.
Addressing a public meeting after performing Jala Harathi programme at Srisailam in Kurnool district on Friday, the Chief Minister said that he did not do any mistake but we were arrested at the then Andhra Pradesh-Maharashtra border area.
“If the Babli project was constructed with such height in Maharashtra, the North Telangana region would become a desert. To save North Telangana region, we went to the project site only to register our protest, but did not commit any mistake. We were arrested and sent to Hyderabad in a special flight” the Chief Minister said, adding that we would think on how to face case'.
