'Sijou' unveils brutality of feudal land tenure system: Vishal Chaliha

Panaji, Nov 27 (UNI) Vishal P Chaliha, director of 'Sijou', a Bodo language film, on Saturday said that the film unveils the brutality of the feudal land tenure system prevalent across Indo-Bhutan border until 1958.
Speaking to media on the sidelines of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) being held here, he said, “When I think of slavery, the picture of Africa used to come to my mind. I never knew that slavery was also prevalent next to my home.”
He said when the producer came to him with the concept, it touched him at once and he made up his mind to make the movie.

Border Force jawan Amol Patil cremated in Nashik
