‘Main Maayke Chali Jaungi’ quenches my creative hunger: Srishti Jain

New Delhi, Sep 11 (UNI) TV actress Srishti Jain who is all set to play lead character in Sony TV’s new show ‘Main Maayke Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo’ says she is happy that her creative hunger is quenched in the show.

Talking to UNI, Srishti who was in the national capital to promote her new show told that working with Sony TV was a good opportunity, as the channel is creatively very liberal.

“If I have any inputs, or if I want to say something, the channel listens to me and incorporates that. Dheeraj Sarna (producer) makes us speak, allows us to give inputs. We are not bound by anything when we are working with him. I am very happy because my creative hunger is quenched here in this show,” she said.

The show explores mother-daughter relationship and the interference of the mother in her daughter’s marriage.

When asked what attracted her to the script, Srishti who is playing the role of Jaya, said it was the concept which made me say yes to the show.

“It’s the slice of life kind of show. It’s on a lighter note. There is no typical saas bahu drama in it. I think every mother will be able to connect herself because mothers are always very protective towards their daughters,” she said.

“In India it is said once the girl gets married her parental home is no longer her home but in this show it is not like this. My mother in the show says, if you have any problem in your in-laws house, you are always welcome in your mother’s house. The other thing is the characters in the show will be in the trouble, and the audiences will laugh and enjoy it. It's not a typical dramatic show,” the ‘Meri Durga’ fame actress said.

“My mother in the show has taught me to be independent, and told that a woman doesn't

needs a man to be happy in life. She can do everything by herself. So this is what my

character has in her mind always. Every character in the show is relatable and audience can connect to every character in the show,” she said.

“My mother in law is idealistic,my husband is loving, my in-laws house is very supportive but at the same time, for Jaya her mother is her god,” she said.

“Jaya is very innocent, but her mother is her Supreme Court,” she said.

Talking of the similarities between herself and her character Jaya, Srishti said,”both are mumma's girl. We both want people around us to be happy and smiling.”

Asked about her paramters of signing a script, the actress said she always looks for the content.

“I am always very conscious about the content when I sign a script. I also believe a lot in vibes, so when I go and if I sense the vibe is good, then I say to it,” she said.

Whether she has got the freedom of choosing the roles, Srishti said,”yes definitely I have always want that whatever role I play or choose I get involved in it and connect to them. People should remember me for what I

displayed on the screen.”

If she gets affected by the TRP’s, the 21-year-old actress said,”Numbers are the boost. If the thing goes wrong, I don't let it break myself, or if it goes right, I don't let it get it on my head. I keep myself balanced.”

Srishti said as an actor she is open to everything.

“I will be happy if I get to do different roles, because it will help me grow as an actor. I will do any role that connects to me but I am not open to bold content,” she added.

The show follows the antics of the sweet and gullible bahu, Jaya, a wedding planner by profession, who keeps threatening her husband to go back to her maayka, under the influence of her overprotective mother Satya Devi.

‘Main Maayke Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo’ features a stellar cast with popular faces from the Indian television Industry.

The show marks the return of actress Neelu Waghela on television as the no-nonsense lawyer Satya Devi. Actors Srishti Jain and Namish Taneja will be seen portraying the lead roles of Jaya and Samar – the married couple.

Aditi Deshpande will be enacting the role of the accommodating and understanding mother-in-law, Rama.

The show will premiere from September 11, Monday to Friday at 2030 hrs on Sony Entertainment Television.
