Sanjay Raut backs Mamata Banerjee, opposes freezing of TMC election symbol

Mumbai, Sep 18 (UNI) Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said the Trinamool Congress (TMC) was founded and built by former West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee through her struggle and hard work and argued that the party's original identity and election symbol should remain with her. Reacting to the issue of freezing the TMC's election symbol, Raut said Maharashtra and Marathi leadership have historically played an important role in Indian politics.
