South Coast Railway launches water quality drive across stations, facilities

Visakhapatnam, Sep 22 (UNI) South Coast Railway (SCoR) has launched a comprehensive quality-assurance drive to ensure safe drinking water across railway stations, residential colonies and railway hospitals in the zone. The monitoring is being conducted in accordance with the Indian Railways Medical Manual (IRMM) by specialised inspection teams under the supervision of senior officers. As part of the three-tier testing protocol, residual chlorine levels are being checked daily at water sources and supply points. Samples falling below prescribed standards are followed up with the Senior Section Engineer (Water Works) for corrective action,, the railways said in a release on Tuesday.…
