After day long gripping action in Madurai's Avuniyapuram Jallikattu, top bull tamer wins car as prize, 60 hurt

Chennai, Jan 15 (UNI) It was a day of gripping action as Jallikattu, the bull taming sport, the first of the three events annually conducted in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu, was held at Avuniapuram on Thursday. According to initial reports, a total of 60 people were injured. A total of 1,000 bulls took part in the Pongal festival's first Jallikattu and 550 bull tamers have registered for the event.
