Ancy Sojan, Sarvesh Kushare win athletics silvers

Nagoya, Sept 27 (UNI) India's athletics contingent delivered a rich haul on Day 8 of the Asian Games 2026, with Ancy Sojan and Sarvesh Kushare winning silver medals in women's long jump and men's high jump respectively, while Parul Chaudhary and Tejaswin Shankar added bronze medals in the 3000m steeplechase and decathlon. Ancy Sojan came within two centimetres of gold in a tense women's long jump final, producing 6.53m to finish behind China's Huang Yingying, who clinched the title with a 6.55m effort on her final jump.
