India may resemble 'banana republic' if electoral rolls continue to be 'fudged': Mehbooba

Srinagar, Sep 23 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said India could eventually resemble a "banana republic" if the alleged deletion and addition of names from electoral rolls continued. She was reacting to reports that two Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi recorded at least 14 objections over 10 months to decisions and communications they said were issued without their knowledge or approval.
