56 people, 107 animals killed in rain-related incidents in UP in 60 hours: Relief Commissioner

Lucknow, Sep 27 (UNI) At least 56 people and 107 animals have died in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh in the past 60 hours, while 1,021 houses were damaged amid heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions across the state, Relief Commissioner Dr Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod said on Sunday. Reviewing relief and rescue operations with District Magistrates and Additional District Magistrates of affected districts, the Relief Commissioner directed officials to ensure that relief and rescue operations were carried out without any negligence and that affected families received assistance promptly and sensitively.
