Panchkula Police arrest man in alleged Rs1.07-crore property fraud

Panchkula, Sep 18 (UNI) Panchkula Police have arrested a man for allegedly cheating a prospective homebuyer of Rs1.07 crore by concealing an earlier agreement to sell the same Sector 26 property and a related court dispute, a police spokesperson said on Friday. The accused, Kapil Chawla, was arrested by the Economic Offences Wing-1 on September 17 and produced before a court on Friday, which remanded him in police custody for two days. According to police, the complainant had entered into an agreement with Ram Prakash Chawla on December 18, 2025, to purchase a house in Sector 26 for Rs5.25 crore.…
