MSP system being weakened: Surjewala targets Haryana govt

Panchkula, Sep 26 (UNI) Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala on Saturday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Haryana of seeking to weaken the MSP-based procurement system by imposing restrictions on paddy purchases, alleging that farmers are being penalised for producing higher yields. Surjewala purported that the state government had fixed a per-acre limit for paddy procurement and introduced verification for produce brought to mandis beyond the prescribed quantity.
