Bank strikes anti-people, says Mahatma Gandhi National Foundation

Kottayam, Sep 26 (UNI) The Mahatma Gandhi National Foundation will organise a consumer protest in Pala on Monday against frequent disruption of banking services due to strikes and demanding more customer-friendly and efficient services. The protest demonstration will be held in front of the State Bank of India branch at Pala at 1130 hours, Foundation Chairman Eby J. Jose said. He demanded that banking services be declared an essential service, similar to hospitals and police stations, and that a shift system be introduced to keep banks operational on more days.
