Delhi exempts five tree species from prior felling permission on private farmland, sets clearance deadlines

New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) The Delhi government has exempted five commercially grown tree species from the requirement of prior felling permission on eligible private agricultural land. In its place, it has introduced online registration and fixed timelines for clearance. The Delhi Preservation of Trees (Agro-forestry and Exempted Plantation Species) Rules, 2026, were notified on September 30 under Sections 29 and 34 of the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act, 1994.
