ECoR's solar-powered CCTV surveillance significantly reduces railway crime

Bhubaneswar, Sep 25 (UNI) East Coast Railway's (ECoR) initiative to strengthen railway safety and security through solar-powered CCTV surveillance has resulted in a significant decline in reported crime incidents at vulnerable locations covered by the system. A comparative analysis of incidents reported during January-August 2025, before the installation of the cameras, and the corresponding period in 2026, after the deployment of solar-powered CCTV cameras, showed a substantial reduction across various categories of railway-related incidents.
