Centre extends 'disturbed area' status under AFSPA in parts of Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal for six months

New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) The Centre has declared large parts of Manipur and specified areas of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh as "disturbed areas" under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958, for another six months from October 1 following a review of the law and order situation, according to three union Home Ministry notifications. In Manipur, the entire state, barring areas under the jurisdiction of 13 police stations in five districts, has been declared a disturbed area for six months from October 1, unless the declaration is withdrawn earlier.
