Jharkhand: HC stays HEC bypass encroachment drive

Ranchi, Sep 18 (UNI) The Jharkhand High Court on Friday directed the Ranchi administration to stop the ongoing encroachment removal drive along HEC Bypass Road and allowed occupants time till Dec 31 to remove encroachments themselves. Justice Ananda Sen passed the direction while hearing a petition filed by 31 people against the administration's action. The court directed Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri and Senior Superintendent of Police to immediately ensure compliance with its order and stop the ongoing action.
